GEM-RDTest
GEM-RDTest is a GR-303 and V5 simulator and analyzer. GEM-RDTest can be used
to simulate GR-303 or V5 interfaces. GEM-RDTest is a perfect tool for all stages of
development and deployment: development, integration and test, and customer service.
It has the perfect combination of portability and features to meet the needs of all
these demanding test applications.
GEM-RDTest includes the following, growing list of features:
- Runs under the Microsoft WindowsTM operating system using desktop or laptop PC hardware.
- Command-line and Perl script interfaces allows the user to develop test scripts and create controlled GR-303 and V5 scenarios.
- GR-303 Specifics:
- User-friendly, Windows-based GUIs are provided for common EOC operations and event monitoring. Optional,
automatic path protection switching (PPS) is built into GEM-RDTest.
- GEM-RDTest can simulate both the IDT and RDT sides of the GR-303 interface.
- TMC IDT simulation provides dial tone, DTMF digit collection, and actual calls to other subscribers on the same RDT.
- Perl scripts provided for common EOC operations (e.g. M-CREATE, M-GET, M-ACTION, etc.).
- EOC simulation scripts are provided for popular, GR-303 local digital switches. A configuration file allows the simulation
to be customized to the user's setup.
- Perl scripts provided for common TMC operations (e.g. ring a phone, hang up a phone, etc.).
- EOC sweep test provides a broad test of EOC operations across a user-defined selection of object instances.
- PPS conformance test script provided.
- Replay EOC traces recorded in the field.
- V5 Specifics:
- User-friendly, Windows-based GUI is provided for control of the V5 simulation (e.g. interface provisioning,
interface start/stop, link blocking/unblocking, PSTN port blocking/unblocking, etc.).
- GEM-RDTest can simulate both the LE and AN sides of the V5 interface.
- V5 LE simulation provides dial tone, DTMF digit collection, and actual calls to other subscribers on the same AN.
- Command line interface allows detailed operations to be performed on the V5 interface.
- Perl scripts available for common V5 operations (e.g. block/unblock a port, protection switching, link block/unblock, off-hook, etc.).
- Works in conjunction with GEM-V5TTCN (sold separately) to provide V5.1 and V5.2, network and data link layer conformance
testing based on the ETSI conformance test suites (see GEM-V5TTCN datasheet for more details).
- Includes GEM-Analyze, a portable protocol analyzer. GEM-Analyze can be used with GEM-RDTest or to passively
monitor a GR-303 or V5 interface. See the GEM-Analyze datasheet for more details.
